The Timeless Black and White Trend

Fashion trends come and go but one trend that remains timeless year after year and season after season is the black and white combination. During the fall/winter seasons, black seems to be the most predominate shade with accents of white. During the spring/summer months, it seems to be the reverse - white becomes more predominate and black becomes the accent shade with pops of colour. Nonetheless, it's safe to say that the black and white trend is becoming more popular by demand and becoming more risqué and haute couture-esque by the minute. Take a look and grab ahold of some pointers because you'll need it to give you that heroin chic edge to survive this coming spring.

A New Year has Arrived and so Has Gold & Wood!

The Sirius in various split colours.

We're excited to add a few new pieces from Luxembourg based designers Gold & Wood, makers of fine buffalo horn and wood finished eyewear.

Two new colour variants of the B16 model.

A collection we keep on display at the Spectacle flagship Queen West boutique, Gold & Wood pieces are unique in their styles that combine materials, some sandwiched together in layers of wood and metal.

New models like the Gamma feature all wood temples and frame fronts reinforced with titanium which makes for a sturdy design but a delicate, wood grain appearance.

The Sirrah.
The Olympus.

Other models like the Sirrah and Olympus feature the trademark combination of a wood body finished with buffalo horn temple tips making for a very comfortable frame evoking the familiarity of traditional acetate shapes.

All of which are available now at our Queen West Boutique.  Start the new year off by spoiling yourself, care of Luxembourg's Gold & Wood!
